Woke up 5:40, at thursday morning 24.9., picked up stuffs from rehearsal room and started driving towards Vaalimaa- border. First stop at ABC- Kotka where having a delicius breakfasts at Hesburger.
Finnish border was quick, but the Russian one… uuuh. They kept us there 4 hours, just because of some useless papers weren’t filled exactly right! And of course none of the officers spoke finnish or english. grrrreat.
Well, we had to drove onehundredinglass to St. Petersburg, we picked Dima (our promotor) up somewhere at St. Petersburgs rush. He guided us to a venue called Zelezniy Lev bar, which was pretty small but nice place. So we took our stuff in, watched an antifa- movie and two bands shows before us (both where pretty good!), we played our show, which went ok i think, took our stuff out and left to our accommodation place.
Next day we had some time to walk around St. Petersburg before we headed our killer-van to 300 km (6 hours) south to Pskov. F.ex. we managed to see some bears at the St. Pete’s centre .. yep.. that’s possible only in Russia.

St. Petersburg
A show in Pskov was in a place called TIR- club and we were the only band playing there. So we had a lot of time to do a decent sound check and damn there was a good sounds at a stage! Honestly i can say, we have never had better stage sounds! So it was very nice to play there though place was pretty big and there was maybe 40-50 people. At least we saw some moshpit and berrypickin there and after the show Polemarch draw their first autographs /../ .. to a harsh and adult russian men!
Couple of hours sleep at the stage next to the drum set that night …aaah. In the morning we started driving to Riga at 7 am. First hours felt like driving at the landscapes of Lord of the Rings, just waiting some headless riders to come and get us.
This time border-hassles went well, though our car was the only one why they brought a x-ray truck there…. But the officers were very nice this time. They just wondered why we are having so little amount of vodka with us though we are coming from RUSSIA!
Next show was at Clup Depo in Riga. It seemed like every finnish rock band has already been there. LApko and Disco Ensemble- stickers were everywhere at the venue. There were 5 bands playing that night. We played as fourth. The last band was some kind of cheap latvian version of Floggin Molly. And the bands before us… i can say nothing.. cause i didn’t listen them so well.

I took some 8 h sleep at our hostel and woke up very refreshing. Other guys had some Rigan nightlife research till 5:30 am that night.
Sooo, sunday 27.9. we headed to Tallinn, Estonia where we had a show at Follow your Dreams studio (rehearsal room). The place was full. Everyone didn’t fit in but during our set, it felt like half of the crowd just disappeared somewhere ![]()
Luckily we heard that they had to make it to the last bus…. so necessarily it wasn’t because of our playing… but who knows
Anyway it seemed that we started playing too late. So, it was a very nice place for us to play and everything seemed very ok, but it left a little bit a bad taste in my mouth after all. Definitely the weakest show from us on a tour. Maybe because of exhaustion and awful guitar-sounds.
After the show, a girl who spoke only russian gave us a good place to sleep nearby the venue.

Monday we chilled at Tallinn etc. and took a ferry to home.
So, as a whole, our first little russian & baltic tour was very nice, should i say an instructive experience. Shows were good, it was nice to hang out with the guys those days, got some new friends on the road and things like that.
Cant wait to get back on the road (abroad) again!

There’s information on our myspace site ( www.myspace.com/polemarchmusic) for how to make an order from us.
We are so anxious to wait to play these and some new songs live.

Enjoy.
The lyrics (by Tim, Sauli came up with the song title):
Roaming through a barren wasteland
a road paved with self-betrayal and deceit.
Throught the ruins of lost innocence
the shipwreck of burnt-out youth culture.
Join the party, our celebration
of plastic smiles and plastic passion.
Stylish haircuts to masquerade
the void of real content.
Mayday! Mayday! We’re crashing down!
This place is collapsing from its own weight!
Pretty numb bodies twitching around
to the rythm of deception…
Kings and queens… Thieves and whores…
Celebrate… The decadence.
Soulless mass-produced fashion zombies
dancing to the death rattle of individualism
This is the soundtrack of our youth
taken away and sold.
So we sing and dance to the same old songs again.
this is the soundtrack to our youth
taken away and sold.
